PINEGATE SWIM TEAM

 THANKS FOR A GREAT SEASON!

Pinegate Swimmers and Families,

     I'd like to take some time to let you all know what a great Summer I had this past season coaching the Pinegate Swim Team. Leading the Gators as the head coach was the fulfillment of a dream of mine and I enjoyed every minute of it. There were so many inspiring moments and great swims over the eight weeks of the season that I can't even begin to name them all.

     In particular, Pinegate's dual meets were a great memory for me. I was happy for the swimmers when we won our first meet, over Wickliffe. The S.E.L. meet was also very memorable for me, as it marked our 3rd win (winning season!) and it also was when we honored our graduates. Rivalry meets against Mentor and Willowick kept the fun going as well. Euclid and Eastlake were also important as they allowed Pinegate to swim two cities that start with the letter "E."

     Championships was a great time for me as it brought a fitting end to a great Summer of competition. The swims I saw this past August both impressed me in the moment and gave me hope moving forward. Moving up from 9th to 8th place in the league standings also affirmed that we are moving in the right direction as a team.

     It is my hope and my plan to return for one more season as a coach on Pinegate Swim Team. There is such a great deal of talent on this team and the kids I'm sure will be ready to succeed in a big way next summer. Having seen what great swimming there is from all of the Gators, I know that 2009 can be a very successful season, with Pinegate competing in all eight age groups.

     Once again, Pinegate, thank you for allowing me to lead the swim team this past Summer. It has been an honor and a privilege to coach the sons and daughters of Pinegate.
